Satoshi

Satoshi most often carries kanji meaning wise, quick-witted, or discerning, a name parents choose with intellect in mind. It was widely popular in Japan through the late twentieth century and gained an unexpected global second life when Satoshi Nakamoto, the pseudonymous inventor of Bitcoin, published his white paper in 2008. Earlier it belonged to anime director Satoshi Kon, whose films remain cult favorites. Three clean syllables, the first opening wide, the last settling into a soft shi.
