Kazuki

Two building blocks, endlessly recombined: kazu, which parents can write as harmony or one, and ki, which opens toward tree, hope, or radiance. The name ran at high popularity in Japan through the 1980s and 1990s, the kind of era that produced a generation of Kazukis now in their thirties and forties — old enough to feel established, young enough to still feel current. Manga artist Kazuki Takahashi, who created Yu-Gi-Oh and gave the name decades of cultural visibility, died in 2022, and the tributes that followed reminded a global audience that the name belongs to a genuine creative legacy.
